Although Oktoberfest is traditionally an autumn festival held in Munich, Germany – Boston certainly isn’t missing out on the fun! Typically, the celebrations begin in mid-September and continue through mid-October. So, strap on your lederhosen and check out these Oktoberfest-inspired events.
Where to drink FestBiers:
PKL OktoBARfest – Stein Holding, Beer Pong, German Band! The fun takes place on October 15th from 2pm-6pm.
Oktoberfest at The LOT on the Dot! Enjoy an authentic Oktoberfest experience in South Boston on Saturday, October 15th! Head to The LOT at 383 Dorchester Ave. to enjoy all types of food and beer while listening to local artists. Open for all ages complete with carnival games and good food! Tall Ship Oktoberfest – ‘Tis the season to wiesn! Who’s ready to ship Oktoberfest? The Tall Ship Annual Beer Fest takes place on October 1st from 3-7pm! Sam Adams Brewery Oktoberfest – Also the weekend of September 22nd – Sam Adams Brewery is embracing the festivities with traditional Oktoberfest food selections, live music and DJs, stein-hoisting contests, and of course, beer! Tickets are recommended, Prost!
Cisco Brewing in the Seaport is hosting an “Actobeerfest” on September 30th and October 1st, complete with stein holding and brat tossing!
Harpoon Brewery Harpoon’s Oktoberfest takes place on September 28th and 30th. Tickets include chicken dancing, live oompah music, pretzel-eating contests, and a big selection of Harpoon beers and ales.
American Provisions – Stop by either their South Boston or Dorchester store and stock up on Festbier for home! Their DOT location will be hosting a festbier tasting w/ @bunkerbrewing Bunktoberfest from Portland, Maine and @greatmarshbrewing Oktoberfest on Friday, September 22nd.
Where to Eat Oktoberfest Foods
Bronwyn in Somerville has a full menu dedicated to German and Center European foods with a wide selection of Festbiers. They have events all month long, including beer tap takeovers, music and festivities. Stop by for Schnitzel, Spätzle, Bretzel and Apfelstrudel! And don’t skip the Footlong Currywurst!
Euromart & DJ’s Market – Take Oktoberfest home with you! Euromart (808 Dorchester Ave.) offers such Polish-style eats as kielbasa, pierogis, fresh and cured cold cuts, smoked sausages, and pickled vegetables in the signature German sweet-and-sour style. DJ’s Market offers Central European pastries, sweet bread, sandwiches, and cold cuts in addition to spices and other novelty items.

Harvard Square Oktoberfest 2023 – In conjunction with Somerville’s HONK! Festival, Harvard Square’s huge and legendary Oktoberfest takes place on October 8th, with Chicken dancing, live music, a big selection of beers and ales, and lots of bratwurst.
Baramor & Park-9 Dog Bar – If you have a pup in tow, head to Newton for Baramor’s Barktoberfest on September 19th or Park-9 Dog Bar in Everett on October 7th. Bring the dog and raise a stein! Park-9 even has dog-friendly beer!
Oktoberfest at Boston Public Market – Boston Public Market is celebrating Oktoberfest on September 23rd, complete with a sausage-eating competition, live music, and German beer!
