Look like something new is in the works on Dot. Ave in Dorchester!  Boston Restaurant Talk is reporting that the Blarney Stone,  a popular restaurant in Fields Corner, is changing hands.  A petition with the City of Boston Licensing Board has been filed to transfer the license to Jodayaanfre, Inc., and open under a new name, Acapella’s.

More plans will be revealed at the hearing slated for Wednesday, June 5th.

The notice mentions that the proposed spot would have Yancarlo Fernandez as the manager and that the space would include a seasonal outdoor patio, though no other information has been given as of yet. More should be known about the plans next week, as the meeting is slated to be held on Wednesday, June 5.

The Blarney Stone has been around since the 1960s and, according to the website, was the first bar in America to sell draught Guinness – wow if true!

Change really has swept south from Southie in the five years I left. Was back two years ago and was amazed by all the high rises. Neighborhood certainly has changed.
