Officers assigned to the District B-3 Drug Control Unit were conducting an investigation in the area of Gallivan Boulevard at about 6:45 PM on Monday, April 26, 2021. While in the area, the officers heard seven to eight rapid gunshots coming from the direction of Owen Street in Dorchester, and then observed a small grey vehicle with tinted windows traveling at a high rate of speed from the area. A detective followed the vehicle to 95 Woodbole Avenue where the four occupants of the vehicle exited the car and entered a residence.
Boston Officers responded to Woodbole Avenue to secure the scene, as well as Owen Street where ballistic evidence was located.
The four individuals who exited the car and entered the residence refused to exit 95 Woodbole Avenue. Officers on scene requested the assistance of the Boston Police Entry Team and Negotiators to respond to the scene, after they arrived on scene, the four individuals exited the residence and were placed in custody.
Officers arrested:
Robert Barrett-Scott, 23, of Mattapan
Reginald Mells, 21, of Dorchester
Junior Galette, 22, of Dorchester
Drequan Haywood, 23, of Dorchester
All four suspects were charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
On Tuesday, April 28, 2021, a Dorchester District Court Search Warrant was issued and executed at 95 Woodbole Avenue. While executing the warrant, detectives located, and seized, a loaded Smith and Wesson 9MM firearm, and a Bersa 9MM firearm with obliterated serial numbers.
