Last July, a 32-year old homeless man was beaten with a baton multiple times at the Ashmont MBTA station by an MBTA transit officer. According to the Boston Herald, (former) officer Dorston Barlett, 65, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and violating a person’s civil rights. Barely along with Sergeant David Finery, 43 and Sergeant Kenny Orcel, 55, were also charged with making false reports.
Bartlett, Finnerty, and Orcel are expected to appear for arraignment on March 27.
