A fire heavily damaged a two-family home at 14 Folsom Street on Saturday night. Nine people – including two children – have been displaced according to the Boston Fire Department.
According to Marc Sanders, BFD spokesperson, the fire is believed to have been started by a hand torch that was used to thaw frozen pipes. The fire quickly traveled up the walls to the first floor where it caused extensive damage. The second floor has smoke damage as well.
Fire damage is estimated at $25,000.
