Some Dorchester small businesses are pushing back on a Papa John’s opening soon in the neighborhood.
According to NBC10 Boston, Brian Chavez, owner of Antonio’s Pizza on Dot Avenue, is trying to block the Papa John’s pizza shop from getting its final approvals from the City of Boston. Chavez believes that there is already an abundance of fast-food spots in the neighborhood and that a Papa John’s will directly affect his business located right across the street.
Apparently, the owner of the Papa John’s franchisee is from out of state, which is not helping the situation with neighbors. However, the manager would be from Boston, and the franchise plans to hire local employees.
