Do you follow the Renovation Husbands on Instagram? Well, you should! With over 140K followers, the dynamic duo is made up of Stephen and David St. Russell, a husband-husband design and DIY team “with a passion for a good project.”
Back in 2017, the Renovation Husbands documented the transformation of the gutted 1893 Victorian they purchased without electricity or plumbing in Dorchester into a gorgeous home. Their Instagram and Tic Tok feeds are filled with helpful and very funny videos of DIY design projects, tips and more.
According to a profile on the duo in Boston Magazine, their talented and masterful design and restoration work have appeared in publications like House Beautiful and Country Living. Back in 2022, the Boston Preservation Alliance awarded the St. Russells the 2022 Preservation Achievement Award for their work restoring and modernizing their historic Dorchester home.
Even more exciting, the St. Russells were asked to help decorate the White House for the holidays this year! They were selected as part of a group of about 150 volunteers from all 50 states, working together to help bring First Lady Dr. Jill Biden’s holiday vision to life. This year’s theme is “We the People,” and the group transformed the grounds and many rooms of the White House with over 84,000 lights, 12,000 ornaments, 77 Christmas trees, 25 wreaths and more!
