For the first time ever, a Dorchester artist performed at Boston Calling on Friday.  Dot native kei has only been performing for three years, but her star is on the rise, headling the Orange stage at the wildly popular Boston music festival.  She closed out the performances on Orange stage with an incredible high energy show complete with Red Sox-inspired costumes- which you can check out on kei’s Instagram story here.

According to WGBH,  poetry, spoken word, and journaling brought kei to rap. Plus, Kei’s father was a music producer who would let her experiment in the studio.  kei won Best New Artist in 2022 at the Boston Music Awards and her career is taking off.  You can check out kei’s music here via youtube.
