What the hell is going on? Last week, Boston’s Inspectional Services Division, along with BPD and health officials, conducted an inspection of CubeSmart Self Storage at 968 Massachusetts Ave. in Dot.
Via a statement from Inspectional Service:
“While surveying the facility, officials observed and discovered several individuals using the storage facility as living quarters.” Officials also noted that some of the units even contained coolers, curtains, food, and electrical extension cords.
Needless to say Inspectional Services told CubeSmart to knock it off. You can’t have people living in storage units! According to the Boston Herald, one woman told police she was paying $230 a month! Good grief!
Are affordable rents so expensive that people have to resort to this? Good grief. Maybe we do need micro units so people can afford to live here!
