Creating a buzz in the neighborhood

What started as a fun winter hobby for married couple Kelley + Eamon Moran, morphed into a blossoming small business in part due to pandemic anxiety. The pandemic hit me hard mentally. My 9-5 is in the travel industry, and like many other businesses, we were getting crushed by COVID. In April, my anxiety was at an all-time high and I was experiencing panic attacks.  I started pouring candles after work as a way to decompress. Every night I put on my favorite podcast and would focus on the candles for a few hours,” said Kelley.

In April, Dot Bee Co’s was born and an Etsy shop was launched.  The Morans pour their candles right here in Dorchester in the Codman Square neighborhood and ship them all over the country. In addition to beeswax candles, they make their wildly popular Bee Balm made with shea butter, organic coconut oil, and locally sourced beeswax.

Did you know?

Beeswax cleans the air by releasing negative ions into the air. These negative ions can bind with toxins and help remove them from the air.
