Dorchester residents and students gathered on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of a new public pathway called the Edson Street Connector. The new paved path connects Edson Street to Peacevale Road, providing access to TechBoston Academy.
The ribbon cutting ceremony did not only open the Edson Street Connector and unveil a sign made by six visual art and design students at TECH Boston, but it also announced the launch of the Legacy Scholarship, a $500 scholarship to help local college-bound students pay for college supplies not normally covered by other forms of financial aid.
Norsha Hydol, a Tech Boston student plans to become an OB/GYN. “ I will be a first-generation graduate in my family. I want to be an advocate for female reproductive justice and give back to the organizations that have helped me expand my mind.”
