Jimmy Hayes, 31, a Dorchester native, a Boston College NCAA hockey champ and former player in the National Hockey League including the Boston Bruins, died unexpectedly on Monday morning.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Hayes was pronounced dead at his Milton home and the death is not considered suspicious.

Hayes leaves behind a wife, Kristen, and two sons: Beau, 2, and Mac, three months.

Relatives & friends are respectfully invited. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. According to a post on Instagram, Dorchester Youth Hockey is planning a standout along the funeral procession route.
