The Boston Herald is reporting John Boampong, 37, of Dorchester has been sentenced to five years in prison for shooting 11 rounds at police at George Floyd Protest.

U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young also ruled that Boampong will serve three years of supervised release for his assault on officers in the early-morning hours of June 1, 2020.

Back in January, Boampong plead guilty to federal charges of interfering with a law enforcement officer during the commission of a civil disorder, receipt of a firearm by a person under indictment for a felony offense, and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees. He still faces separate charges with the state.
