At about 4:47 am on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, Officers Assigned to District B3 responded to a radio call for a ShotSpotter Activation in the area of 245 Talbot Street and made an on-site arrest of Trevis Catron, 47, of Dorchester. 

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a nearby residence with ballistic damage and located ballistic evidence.  Additionally, Officers were advised that a male was seen shortly following the shots fired and entered the address at 245 Talbot Avenue.  Officers entered the address and took Catron into custody without incident.  Detectives responded to the scene, processed the ballistic evidence, and froze the apartment pending a search warrant.  Detectives from District B3 applied for and were granted a search warrant out of Dorchester District Court and recovered a firearm and ammunition from the residence.

The firearm was determined to be a Taurus 40 caliber loaded with ten (10) rounds of ammunition.  Additionally, Officers recovered 63 loose 40 caliber rounds and 33 loose 7.65 caliber rounds.

Catron will be charged with Possession of ammunition without an FID card (Subsequent Offense), Discharge of a Firearm with 500 feet of a Building, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Trevis Catron is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
