Dorchester Man Arrested in Connection with Three Armed Robberies

Investigation Update: About 8:15 PM, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, officers and detectives assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested John Kennedy, 38, of Dorchester, in the area of 13 Westcott Street. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was wanted on two warrants issued out of Suffolk Superior Court and Lawrence District Court for charges to include armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny from a person, and strangulation.

Kennedy is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court and is additionally charged with the following offenses:

  • Armed robbery
  • Trespassing

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: About 7:59 AM, on Friday, August 28, 2026, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 124 Harvard Street, Dorchester, for a radio call of an armed robbery. The suspect brandished a knife and fled with approximately $250.

Later that evening at about 9:23 PM District B-3 officers responded to the area of 44 Norfolk Street, Dorchester for a report of an armed robbery. The convenience store was robbed at knifepoint. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

A third robbery occurred at about 5:52 PM, on Monday, August 31, 2026 in the area of 613 Park Street, Dorchester. The suspect assaulted the store employee and fled with approximately $1,500.
