Dorchester Man arrested at Target for stealing 27 bottles of lotion…yes, 27.
At approximately 4:49 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at 7 Allstate Road.
Upon arrival, loss prevention officers informed police that a known shoplifting suspect had been observed concealing 27 bottles of lotion inside a large duffel bag. The suspect allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying and was stopped by loss prevention personnel.
Police were further advised that the suspect had previously been trespassed from the store in November and is believed to have stolen more than $56,000 worth of merchandise from Target stores across multiple states.
Long Tran, 54, of Dorchester, was placed under arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on the following charges:
- Shoplifting by asportation over $250
- Trespass
