On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, officers assigned to the citywide Neighborhood Engagement Safety Team (NEST) arrested Dale Clarke, 29, of Dorchester, on various drug-related offenses.

About 6:12 PM, police observed a group congregating at the MBTA bus stop near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Harrison Avenue. Officers were aware of multiple community complaints regarding the illegal drug use inside of bus stops.

When officers approached the group, they recognized one of the individuals and were aware he had an active warrant for his arrest. As the officers exited their cruiser, the suspect began running towards Harrison Avenue. A foot chase ensued, and the suspect was apprehended. Officers determined that the suspect needed assistance for drug abuse and was assisted with being placed into a drug treatment facility.

Simultaneously, a second individual also began to run, and he was seen clutching his waist. The suspect pinned a fanny pack to his body and fled towards Washington Street. During a foot chase, the suspect reached into his waistband area and threw two large plastic bags to the ground.  While he continued to run, he discarded his fanny pack between two parked cars.

Officers were able to stop the suspect at Public Alley 715 and placed him under arrest. The recovered fanny pack contained a large amount of money, which was later counted at District D-4. The plastic bags also contained multiple individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine and fentanyl.

A total of 133 plastic bags of crack cocaine was determined to be 85 grams, and 36 plastic bags of fentanyl weighed approximately 35 grams. The seized money was also determined to be $3,392 in U.S. currency.

Clarke was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court for the following charges:

• Trafficking of cocaine, 36 grams or more, less than 100 grams
• Trafficking of fentanyl, 18 grams or more, less than 36 grams
