Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (D) from Dorchester was part of the House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday who listened to hours of testimony from Michael Cohen, former lawyer for Donald Trump, regarding conflict of interest, illegal payments, and wrong doings involving the president.
Pressley focused her questioning of Cohen on the abuses of Trump’s charity including a straw purchaser of portrait of Trump and using funds from charity to pay for it. But social media exploded when Pressley asked Cohen,
“Would you agree that someone could deny rental units to African Americans, lead the birther movement, refer to the diaspora as “sh*thole countries” and refer to white supremacists as “fine people,” have a black friend and still be racist?
Michael Cohen responded, “Yes!”
