Boston Business Journal is reporting that Dorchester Brewing Co.’s co-founder has sold the company’s taproom and brewery to the plumbers union next door for $10.2 million.
The Plumbers + Gasfitters UA Local 12 initially sold the building to Dorchester Brewing more than eight years ago and now the brewery is on a year-to-year lease with the union.
According to the article, Dorchester Brewing is using the proceeds from the sale to pay down its debt.
As to the future of Dorchester Brewing remaining open in the neighborhood, the owners told BBJ that they will reevaluate in a year when the lease is up for renewal.
