At about 5:11 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2019, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 49 Withington Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers observed two males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to local hospitals, one with non-life-threatening injuries and the other with life-threatening injuries who was pronounced deceased. Officers were able to recover a firearm at the scene.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
