Just before 7 a.m. on Sunday Troopers assigned to State Police-South Boston were dispatched to 911 reports of a motor vehicle off the roadway approximately one half mile South of Exit 15 on Route 93 Southbound in Dorchester.
Upon their arrival they discovered a 1998 Mercedes sedan that, for reasons which remain under investigation, traveled over the guardrail to the right side of the roadway. The operator, a 45-year-old male from Fall River, was located outside of the vehicle unconscious with serious injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Boston EMS responded and determined the operator to be deceased on scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Troopers assigned to the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
