Friday, Police Commissioner Willie Gross named a 22-year veteran, Gregory Long, as his superintendent in chief. Long was head of the Bureau of Investigative Services for the last three years. Before that, Long was a lieutenant detective in command of the special investigations and homicide units.
Long has also worked as a patrol and plainclothes officer in Mattapan, in addition to being assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force. Long was born and raised in Dot and a graduate of Boston Latin School!
Way to go, Superintendent in Chief Long! You’ve made Dot proud!
