The City of Boston is seeking public feedback on a project to transform Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester and Mattapan neighborhoods.
The City of Boston and the MBTA’s long-awaited transformation project would redesign the more than three-mile stretch of road between Grove Hall and Mattapan Square.
Part of the latest draft design includes center bus lanes, protected bike planes, and between nine and 11 pairs of bus boarding platforms, plus 14 new crosswalks. In addition, some car lanes and parking spaces will be eliminated.

Looks like a good plan.
As a T rider, this is not a good plan. Its not the traffic that is a problem, it’s the service. Per the app, 20 minute delays because of traffic and that is not true. I see one bus coming and 3 others behind each other going to the station. People have waited for do long, once the bus arrives, its so many people trying to get on because the are ready to go home. This also takes away parking for those who livw on Blue Hill Ave and I have seen what happens when a bus break downs in the bus lane. There would be no safe way for pedestrians to cross along with any emergency, cop cars ambulances, fire trucks won’t be able to get around the traffic once reduced to one lane.
