The first weekend in May is proving to be a wild one as Mexico’s celebration of military victory collides with the iconic “Run for the Roses.”  Whether your plan is to knock back a couple of margaritas or to dust off your best hat, we’ve rounded up all the Cinco de Derby happenings in Dorchester so you can celebrate all weekend long! So get ready to raise a toast for victory on the battlefield and victory in the winner’s circle!

DORSET HALL
Saturday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo & Kentucky Derby Day
Stop in for lunch or for dinner, Dorset Hall plans on serving up some traditional Margaritas and Mint Juleps all day long. Margarita specialties include: Blackberry, Classic, Frozen and Strawberry! You won’t want to miss their Coronarita either – A Margarita served in a 16oz glass, with a mini Corona bottle turned upside down into a glass. Served on the rocks! After you get your Margarita on, grab a Bushmills Whiskey Mint Julep served in a classic stainless steel mint cup (while they last!).  The Derby will be playing at the bar at 6:46pm!

DOT Brewing
Saturday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo Celebration from 11:30 am – 11:00 pm
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with pizza, beer and some festive music! Oath pizza will be serving up the dough at Dorchester Brewing Co. from 2pm – 8pm. While Los Gallos Locos takes the stage with some Latin Roots Surf Rock from 6pm – 8:30pm.

LUCY’S AMERICAN TAVERN
Saturday, May 5th
Lucy’s is throwing a Derby de Mayo Party! With Margarita specials, Mint Juleps and Champagne cocktails. Look for a couple menu specials from the kitchen too. The event will be fundraising for Best Buddies. $1 from every specialty cocktail will be donated to Best Buddies by Lucy’s.

DBAR
Saturday, May 5th
Dbar After Dark will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo party. A Mexican inspired fiesta with all of the Dbar After Dark vibes so you can dance the night away.

YELLOW DOOR TAQUERIA
Yellow Door will be opening early for an all-day fiesta featuring specials from Executive Chef, Colton Coburn-Wood and his bar team.  Menu specials will include Chili Rellenos and Chilaquiles Verdes, in addition to a variety of signature tacos and ceviche.  Cocktail specials will include the Zero-To-Sixty (Cazadores blanco, lime, pamplemousse, sage-honey) along with your favorite house margaritas and micheladas.  The Cazadores tequila team will make an appearance from 6pm – 8pm with complimentary tastings and swag. Don’t forget! For those hosting a fiesta at-home, Yellow Door Taqueria sells tortillas to-go by the 6-pack for $5!

THE INDUSTRY
The Industry is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a spicy Margarita made with Ghost Tequila, fresh lime, agave with a Cajun spicy rim! They will also be serving a Julep Sour made with Bulleit bourbon, Amaro, fresh lemon and honey. Last but not least they will be serving tempura fried cod tacos with a fresh pineapple salsa and queso fresco.

LANDMARK PUBLIC HOUSE
Saturday, May 5th – Cinco de Mayo & Kentucky Derby Day
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Derby Day with a housemade Spicy Watermelon Margarita with a chili salted rim or a Derby Day Mint Julep! The race will be playing at 6:45pm but the party starts during lunch at 11:30am! A 25 dollar gift card to the guest with the best Derby attire!
