Live Boston reports there was a car crash with an MBTA bus at 3am on Monday in Dorchester – leaving the female driver of the car with life-threatening injuries.  Her adolescent son, who was a passenger, was also taken to the hospital.

At approximately 03:13 hours this morning a MBTA bus collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Seaver Street and Columbia Road. The vehicle was struck sending it flying into a row of parked cars. The driver of the vehicle was entrapped and unconscious, in critical condition when the Boston EMS arrived. The Division 3 Lieutenant, Paramedic 2, Ambulance 3, Ambulance 11 and Ambulance 22 responded to the scene.

Boston Fire Engine 24 and Ladder 23 responded and used multiple power tools to extract the patient, including the jaws of life. She was transported from the scene to a local area hospital with life-threatening-injures in critical condition. In addition, her adolescent son, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries. The MBTA bus driver was also taken to a local area hospital with no major injuries.

At this time the crash is still under investigation with Boston Police and MBTA Transit Police. Full notifications were made at 04:09 hours and auto investigators and detectives were called to the scene due to the extent of the drivers injuries. No further information is available at this time.
