From MSP News:

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, a Trooper assigned to the Milton Barracks witnessed a black Monte Carlo coupe crash into a grey Toyota SUV in the area of Woodrow Avenue in Dorchester. The vehicle continued on for a short time and finally came to a stop in the area of Ashton and Livingstone Streets. While conducting their crash investigation, the Trooper saw in plain sight an unsecured revolver on the passenger floorboards of the black Monte Carlo. The Trooper attempted to detain the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle TISEAN JONES, 32, of Randolph, to conduct their investigation.

JONES became uncooperative with the Trooper, and fled the scene on foot. The Trooper gave chase and was able to catch up to JONES. A brief scuffle ensued during which JONES broke away and again fled in the direction of Baird Street. Boston Police Officers quickly arrived to lend assistance to the Trooper and establish a perimeter. BPD Officers were able to locate and place JONES under arrest on Havelock Street a short distance away.

The Trooper returned to the vehicle JONES was previously operating to secure the firearm. It was determined that JONES does not possess a license to carry firearms. In the vehicle, the Trooper was also able to find a black sock containing 2 clear plastic bags of a substance consistent with crack cocaine. Boston Police transferred custody to a second Trooper on scene and JONES was transported to the Milton Barracks for booking.

JONES was scheduled to appear in Dorchester District Court on the following charges:

  1. Trafficking in Cocaine;
  2. Possess a Firearm During a Felony;
  3. Firearm Violation with three prior Violent/Drug Crimes;
  4. Carrying a Loaded Firearm;
  5. Carrying a Firearm – Fourth Offense;
  6. Failure to Stop for Police;
  7. Resisting Arrest;
  8. Improper Storage of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle; and
  9. Interfering with a Police Officer.
