At about 5:17 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan), made an on-site firearm arrest at the intersection of Woodrow Avenue and Johnson Terrace in Dorchester.

Officers observed a motor vehicle traveling on Stratton Street toward Lyford Street. Officers performed a CJIS query of the vehicle and it was revealed that the vehicle’s registration was revoked.

Officers activated their lights and sirens to initiated a traffic stop. Officers approached the driver of the motor vehicle, later identified as Clavour Shaw, 28, of Boston and requested to see his driver’s license. Shaw did not have an active driver’s license and was asked to exit the motor vehicle. Shaw was being placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license, he was complaint and during the search incident to a lawful arrest, officers recovered a loaded firearm from Shaw’s jacket pocket.

The Glock 42, caliber .380 was loaded with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.

Shaw was arrested and charged with Operating After Revocation/Suspension, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court
