Live Boston is reporting that BPD responded to call around 2:40am on Saturday to an outside disturbance in the are of 22 Glendale Street in Dorchester. According to the report, the 911 caller stated that someone was screaming outside for help and needed the police. When officers arrived, they were confronted by an adult male with a knife.

The male suspect stabbed one of the officers. At least one officer discharged their firearm striking the suspect at least one time. A code 303 was ordered and BPD officers from across the city including Districts C-6 and B-2 responded to assist. The officer who was stabbed was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was pronounced deceased on scene by Boston EMTs.

Acting Police Commissioner Greg Long and Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden held a press conference around 5:20am on Saturday to report a fatal officer involved shooting had occurred and at least two officers were injured during the incident.
