At about 12:29 AM on Monday, August 9, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 27 Irma Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located Aisha Shepard, 38, of Roxbury, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives assigned to the Boston Police Homicide Unit conducted an investigation which resulted in the identification of Indrick Rubin, 37, of Brockton as the suspect wanted in connection to this incident. A warrant for his arrest was issued out of Dorchester District Court on charges of Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Earlier today, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested the suspect at 725 Albany Street, Boston. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The Boston Police Department continues to review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
