Update: At about 6:45 AM on Friday, February 26, 2021, members of the Boston Police Homicide Unit and Boston Police Fugitive Unit made an onsite warrant arrest at 58 Claybourne Street Dorchester. Detectives arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile, from Dorchester, by virtue of a straight warrant out of Dorchester District Court for Murder, carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 12:40 PM on Friday, January 22, 2021, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester), responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Bowdoin Avenue and Washington Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an adult female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Tasjahnaya Dance, 19, of Dorchester.
The Boston Police Department continues to review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
