From BPD News:
At about 2:12 AM on Friday January 8, 2021, officers assigned to the B-3 Anti-Crime Unit (Mattapan), conducted a traffic stop resulting in an on-site drug arrest of Yeuri Bernabel, 25, of Dorchester and Yulial Cuello-Reynoso, 29, of Lowell in the area of Wentworth Terrace and Wentworth Street in Dorchester.
While patrolling the area of Washington Street and Talbot Avenue, officers observed a motor vehicle with an expired inspection sticker take a quick right onto Euclid Street, then proceeded to travel the wrong way on Withington Street towards Torrey Street.
Officers initiated the traffic stop by activating their lights and sirens, but the motor vehicle failed to stop until it reached the area of Wentworth Street and Wentworth Terrace where the passenger exited the vehicle and began running down the foot path towards Tech Boston Academy.
Officers observed the male, later identified as Yeuri Bernabel, drop numerous cell phones and a backpack along the footpath. He was apprehended a short time later hiding under a deck in the area of 20 Whitman Street.
Yulial Cuello-Reynoso was placed into custody at the location of the traffic stop and attempted to flee on foot while in handcuffs but was quickly apprehended.
Officers recovered the backpack which contained several cell phones, a large number of drugs and approximately $3,462.23 in USC.
Yeuri Bernabel was arrested and charged with Trafficking: Class B Drugs (Crack Cocaine).
Yulial Cuello-Reynoso was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws and Failure to Stop for Police. They are both expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Court.
