At about 5:45 PM, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of Washington Street and Melville Street of two juvenile males, ages 16 and 17, on firearm charges.

Officers were on directed patrol when they observed the two juvenile males. Officers made several observations of the males that led them to believe that the males may have firearms. As officers got closer to the males, they observed the outline of a firearm visible on one of the males. As officers attempted to stop the males, both males fled, with one apprehended on the scene and another arrested after a brief foot chase. Officers recovered a firearm from each juvenile male.

Officers recovered a Rex Zero 9mm firearm loaded with one (1) round in the chamber and thirteen (13) rounds in the magazine and a Smith and Wesson 9MM firearm with one (1) round in the chamber and thirteen (rounds) in the magazine.

Both juvenile males are to be charged with Delinquent to wit Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device.

Both juvenile males are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Juvenile Court.
