At about 2:15 PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, Alexis Herrera-Brea, a Boston Police Officer since September 2017, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Violence Unit for an Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery (209A) after being involved in a domestic violence incident involving a non-intimate family member.

Herrera-Brea has been placed on Administrative Leave and the Boston Police Anti-Corruption Unit has been made aware of this arrest and have opened an investigation into the matter.

Superintendent in Chief Gregory Long stated “This alleged behavior is completely unacceptable for any member of the Boston Police Department and will be fully investigated.  The Boston Police Department will continue to ensure our integrity and credibility by taking all alleged domestic violence matters involving department employees seriously.”

Alexis Herrera-Brea will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court.
