Coyotes are no strangers to Dorchester. According to posts on social media, coyote sightings have been reported around the neighborhood lately. Evidently they come around for the Canada Geese.
This coyote was spotted last December in Savin Hill. We’re not sure whether or not he owns a boat, but he seems very comfortable at the Savin Hill Yacht Club. (image via Savin Hill Sailor)
Police are warning people to beware – coyotes can be aggressive and like to eat pets – so be aware of your surrounding – especially early in the morning.

Last night my cat, who was a Dorchester rescue and very street smart, was slaughter in my back yard. All that was left of him was one leg an d his tail. No sign of the head or torso. Sounds like a coyote to me.
Just seen a coyote on Savin Hill ave going in a driveway.
