Investigation Update: Earlier this morning, at about 6:40 AM on Thursday July 29, 2021, special agents assigned to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in coordination with detectives assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester), members of the U.S. Marshals Service and officers assigned to the BPD Fugitive Unit, BPD Youth Violence Strike Force and the Braintree Police Department arrested 37-year-old Khary Jones at his residence in Braintree.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant sought out of Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (to Wit: Firearm – Four Counts) and Armed Career Criminal (Level 1).
The warrant was applied for and granted following an intensive investigation led by District C-11 Detectives into a quadruple shooting that occurred at about 6:11 PM on Saturday July 10, 2021, in the area of 34 Cameron Street in Dorchester.
The suspect will appear for arraignment at a later time in Dorchester District Court.
