Arrest Made in Fatal Blue Hill Avenue Shooting

Boston Police have arrested a suspect in connection with Wednesday’s fatal shooting on Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester. According to the Boston Globe, 23-year-old Billy Thien Huynh is charged with murder after allegedly shooting Victor Armani Arias Rivera, 20, during an argument over a stolen motorbike. Huynh turned himself in to police less than 24 hours after the shooting.
Prosecutors say the victim denied having the bike before he was shot twice outside a Blue Hill Avenue apartment building. Huynh allegedly fled the scene on a motorcycle before later surrendering to police. He has also been charged with carrying a firearm without a license and was ordered held without bail.
The shooting marked Boston’s 19th homicide of the year. The investigation remains ongoing.
