Arrest Made After Search Warrant Leads to Recovery of Firearm and Narcotics in Dorchester

On Friday, January 9, 2026, members of the District C-11 (Dorchester) Drug Control Unit, in conjunction with the District B-2 (Roxbury) and District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Units, executed a search warrant at a residence located at 191 Talbot Avenue in Dorchester as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers observed the target of the investigation exit the residence and stand near the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Bernard Street while appearing to wait for another individual. Shortly thereafter, a motor vehicle arrived and the individual entered the passenger seat. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and were able to identify the individual, who was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Officers then executed the search warrant at the residence. Upon entry, a protective sweep was conducted and two individuals were located inside. Both were advised of the search warrant, and officers proceeded with a thorough search of the apartment.

During the execution of the warrant, officers recovered a loaded Protec .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol along with additional ammunition, which was located inside a bag near a bedroom dresser. Officers also recovered a large bag and additional smaller bags containing a brown powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, as well as multiple individually packaged bags of crack cocaine. The narcotics were found concealed inside footwear and other containers within the bedroom, consistent with packaging used for street-level distribution. Officers additionally recovered digital scales, drug packaging materials, and multiple forms of identification belonging to the suspect.

Officers also recovered an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, including several thousand dollars in various denominations, believed to be connected to illegal drug distribution.

The firearm and narcotics were secured as evidence, and the currency will be seized.

As a result of the investigation, Andy Alcantara-Beltre, 33, of Dorchester, was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:

  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Unlawful possession of ammunition
  • Trafficking in a Class A substance (over 100 grams)
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (crack cocaine)
