Arrest has been made in the homicide of 17-year-old from Dorchester.

At about 6:47 PM on Friday January 15, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 29 Ferndale Street in Dorchester. On arrival officers were unable to establish a crime scene in the immediate area of the call. While on scene, officers were advised that a possible suspect vehicle had fled prior to their arrival. After a period of time, a vehicle matching the given description was located in the City of Quincy, Massachusetts, by members of the Quincy Police Department. Officers located a juvenile male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim has since been identified as Akeem Polimis, 17, of Dorchester.

At about 11:30 AM on Saturday January 16, 2021, BPD Homicide Detectives arrested Juan Nazario, 18, of Dorchester in connection to the incident. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit will continue to investigate this incident in conjunction with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office along with members of the Massachusetts State Police and the Quincy Police Department.
