Argument over trash barrels leads to an arrest and recovery of firearms

At about 9:03 AM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 31 Brookview Street in Dorchester. Upon arrival officers located the victim and suspect. The victim stated the suspect, later identified as a 41-year-old male of Dorchester, displayed a firearm during an argument over garbage barrels.

The suspect was placed under arrest for Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). The address was frozen pending a search warrant.

At about 6:37 PM, officers executed a search warrant issued out of Dorchester District for 31 Brookview Street and recovered a Sig Sauer 1911 .45 Caliber Semi-Automatic Firearm, an FTL Marketing Corp Auto Nine .22 Caliber Pistol, four magazines and seventy-eight rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
