Update: The person name has been released by Boston police. The victim has since been identified as Donell Davis, 24-years-old, of Boston.

At about 10:05 AM on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Milton Avenue in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim inside a residence suffering from wounds. The victim, suffering life threatening injuries, was pronounced non-viable on scene.
The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
