According to BPD, a grandmother in her 70s was shot and killed while sitting outside on her porch in on Olney Street around 6pm on Saturday. The victim, who was not the intended target, was taken to the hospital, where she later died. A Go Fund Me Page has been set up to help Delois Brown’s family with funeral costs. Investigation Update: At about 5:56PM on Saturday April 10, 2021, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 19 Olney Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an elderly female victim in her mid-seventies suffering from gunshot wounds. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Delois Brown, 73, of Dorchester.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and is asking anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
