At about 12:34 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a shot spotter notification in the area of Astoria Street. On arrival officers located numerous pieces of ballistic evidence. A short time later officers received another radio call for two males shot inside of a motor vehicle in the area of 7 Dyer Street. One male victim sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local area hospital. The other male victim was pronounced deceased on scene and has since been identified as Myssiah Pledger, 18-years-old, of Dorchester.  Officers received further notification of a third male shot who self-applied to a local area hospital with non- life-threatening injuries.
