Donate a Children’s Book to CBCU Book Drive

The City of Boston Credit Union (CBCU) is hosting a children’s book drive throughout April in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings and in the spirit of One Boston Day, which will be held on Saturday, April 15.  You can get all the details here!

One Boston Day  – April 15th

Let’s honor and reflect on all that is strong and resilient about the City of Boston!  You’re also encouraged to perform an act of kindness! Why not do a good deed by performing a simple act of kindness in the neighborhood? Here are some suggestions! 

Puppy Love

Over 100 Golden Retrievers will gather to honor Spencer and Penny. A golden retriever meetup group is organizing a gathering of over 100 Goldens at the Boston Marathon finish line to honor Spencer, the pup known for holding flags on the marathon route, and his sister Penny. Sadly, both dogs passed away in February.  The goldens will wear yellow bandanas and walk down Boylston Street on Sunday, April 16th.  They will meet at Boston Commons at 11am. 

Sandgies at Reign Drink Lab

Enjoy freshly made Sandgies – sandwiches made on from-scratch biscuits on Saturday at Reign Drink Lab. 9am until they sell out!

Create your own Garden

The Boston Public Library would like to help you create your own garden!  Grow your own vegetable, herbs and flowers!  You can pick up free seeds at participating branches including Codman Square, Fields Corner and Uphams Corner.

The Patio is Open at 224 Boston Street

Enjoy dinner or brunch in the great outdoors at 224 Boston Street.  This beautiful patio is officially open for the season!

Run to Remember Martin Richard

The Dorchester Running Club will host a special run on Saturday, April 15th to remember Dorchester resident Martin Richard on the 10th Anniversary of his death. All are welcome to join us for a 3-mile loop at 5:30pm.  Meet in Adams Village on Minot Street to begin the run, take a right onto Adams Street; right on King Street; right on Neponset Ave.; right on Minot Street, and back to the College Hype lot. #choosekindness

Hello Spring Dance

The Polish American Citizens Club is hosting a special spring dance on Saturday, April 15th at 7pm.  There will be music, food, drink and lots of fun! $40 per person!

Dorchester Brewing Marathon Monday Celebration

Dorchester Brewing will open at 11am on Monday – just in time for the Red Sox game.  There will also be some specialty DOTtails for you to enjoy!

Sports

The Red Sox play the Angels on Friday at 7:10pm, Saturday at 4:10pm, Sunday at 1:35pm and Marathon Monday at 11:10am. The Celtics play the Hawks on Saturday at 3:30pm. Here are 9 Places to Watch the Game in the Neighborhood!
