MBTA Bus Stop and Bus Lane Automated Camera Enforcement Program Begins October 1

Heads up, Dorchester! If you’ve been chancing it parking in bus lanes and bus stops, your days are numbered. The MBTA has announced that a brand-new automated ticketing system will officially roll out on October 1st. So consider yourself warned. Here’s how it works: cameras will scan for cars parked in bus lanes and bus stops, snap a photo, and send a ticket straight to your mailbox. Fines will start at $25 and can climb all the way up to $125 for repeat offenders.  You can get all the details here.

Fall Fest (Taylor’s Version) at the Lawn on D

Calling all Swifties! Fall Fest (Taylor’s Version) is taking over The Lawn on D on Saturday, October 3. Dress in your favorite era and enjoy an afternoon of Taylor Swift fun from 12pm–5pm, including bracelet-making, face-painting, and a live Taylor Swift tribute by Anna Daley Young from 2pm–5pm. Nominate your favorite Legacy Business

Mayor Michelle Wu today announced the launch of the nomination period for the fifth annual Legacy Business Awards. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, October 30, 2026. Residents are encouraged to nominate long-standing businesses that have been located within the city of Boston for at least 10 years and contribute to the cultural, historical, and societal fabric of their community or neighborhood.  You can learn more here.
