Explore Boston’s Stunning Fall Foliage

Who says you need to leave the city to see beautiful foliage? Did you know that the Emerald Necklace is home to more than 8,000 trees, and each autumn, they work together to put on a show? Follow the FREE Emerald Necklace Foliage online tour that showcases some of Boston’s best leaf-peeping and unique sights along Frederick Law Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace parks. It is a great tool to use as a guide when touring the park system. Also, according to the Emerald Necklace Conservancy team, their preferred spots for leaf peeping in the Necklace are Jamaica Pond, Franklin Park’s Scarboro Pond, and Schoolmaster Hill in Franklin Park since the elevation affords a lovely sweeping vista. Simply follow this link to start the FREE online tour!

Save the date: Pumpkin Parade at Pope John Paul II Park

Bring your Halloween costumes and carved pumpkins to the Pumpkin Parade on the Neponset River Greenway Trail on Thursday, October 23rd at 5:30pm. There will be games, candy, hot chocolate and more! Candles for your Jack-O-Lanterns will be provided.  You can learn more here.

Fields Corner Squares + Streets

The Fields Corner Squares + Streets planning team will be holding office hours virtually to allow greater scheduling flexibility. Reserve a spot using the link below to share your questions, go through project material, or discuss future engagement opportunities! City staff will still be around the neighborhood in-person. Please reach out to Ben Zunkeler, Project Manager, if you would like to meet outside of the office hours, in-person, or want staff to join a community meeting.  The office hours will take place on Friday, October 18th from 1pm-3pm.  You can register in advance here.

Have a wonderful week!
