Dorchfest 2025

Dorchfest will take place on Saturday, May 31st, from 12 pm-5 pm. Experience what it would be like to walk through a real-life shuffled Spotify playlist!  This outdoor music festival will feature over 40 different artists performing on various neighborhood porches and front yards.   Get all the details here! 

New to the Neighborhood: Milkweed is opening Tuesday

A Mission Hill restaurant, Milkweed, is opening its second location in Dorchester—in the old Boston Market on Morrissey Boulevard on Tuesday! Milkweed serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering a casual diner/café vibe. There are plenty of windows for brightness and ample parking! Sounds delightful! Dorchester Day Parade

Every year the Dorchester Day Parade commences on the first Sunday in June. This year the parade is scheduled to kick off on June 1st. The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street & Dorchester Avenue and travels along Dorchester Avenue to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue. Ain’t no party like a block party!

City of Boston announces applications are open for block party grants! This funding effort encourages residents to connect with their neighbors and experience the joy of building a stronger community. Residents and community groups who apply for the mini-grants can receive up to $750 to purchase food, party supplies, lawn games, and other items for summer block parties to make it easier and more affordable for neighborhoods to hold community gatherings.  You can learn more here.

MBTA Service Changes in June

The MBTA today announced service changes in June on the Orange, Red, Green, Blue, Framingham/Worcester, and Franklin/Foxboro lines.   Riders can find more information on service changes through in-station signage, in-station public announcements, and at mbta.com/PlannedWork. Transit Ambassadors and MBTA staff will be available on-site to offer information and assistance during these service changes. Riders are encouraged to subscribe to T-Alerts!
