The City of Boston Has Declared a Heat Emergency beginning June 22nd – June 24th

Mayor Michelle Wu has declared a heat emergency in the City of Boston beginning June 22, 2025 through June 24, 2025. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s with a feels-like temperature of up to 100 degrees. Cooling centers will be open at Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) community centers Sunday through Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A full list of centers, other available resources, and heat safety tips can be found online at boston.gov/heat. Residents are encouraged to call 311 with any questions about available city services and look out for each other. If you see someone out in the heat who appears in distress and needs help, call 911 immediately.

Splish Splash

Splash pads across the City are open and ready for splashing — a great way to stay cool this summer. Additionally, there are several public pools in Boston where you can take a swim.  Many are offering swim lessons and aquatic programs.  Visit boston.gov/splash for an interactive map of locations, accessibility information, and live spray play status – updated hourly.

Circus Up 2025 Beach Bash

Kirkos Circus Up’s spectacular youth community troupe is coming to Dorchester this weekend. Founded in 2020, Kirkos performs bold and uplifting shows that address social issues while crafting collaborative circus acts that surprise, baffle and delight.  Takes place on June 29, 2025, 11:00-1:00 at Malibu Beach 530 William T Morrissey Blvd, Dorchester, MA 02125

Art in the Park Returns to Savin Hill Park on June 29th

Mark your calendars—Art in the Park is back for its second year on Sunday, June 29th from 2pm-4pm and it’s bringing creative energy to the neighborhood!  This free, community event is all about trying something new, connecting with neighbors, and celebrating local art in all its forms. Expect hands-on activities, interactive art stations, and plenty of opportunities to meet the people who make our neighborhood vibrant and unique. Come out, get inspired, and make some memories in the park!  This event is brought to you by the Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association.
