Movie Night at The LOT
Head on over to The LOT, 383 Dot Ave., this Thursday, August 1st, for a movie showing of Frozen! Entry is free, and popcorn, snacks, and drinks will be served from the Cantina to enjoy with the movie. Doors will open at 7 PM for face painting and games before the movie, which begins at 8PM. Be sure to bring your own chairs and blankets for extra comfort, as limited seats are available! The BAA is hosting a special Neighborhood Fitness Series event at Carson Beach on August 1. This fun run/walk is a free community event for all ages. Bib pick-up begins at 4:30 p.m., and the race begins at 6:00 p.m. You can register here.
Free Arts + Crafts for Kids at Ryan Playground
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program is pleased to announce the return of free Arts & Crafts Workshops for children. From West Roxbury to East Boston, kids ages three to ten can enjoy a wide variety of arts and crafts activities led by local artists at the workshops held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. This week this fun and free event takes place Friday, August 2, 9, & 16.
Dalton + The Sheriffs’ Scully at Boston Harbor Distillery
Make a plan for a fun evening on Thursday, August 1st to hang out with friends, drink some delicious cocktails crafted by the Boston Harbor Distillery, and watch a live solo acoustic performance from Dalton & The Sheriffs singer, Scully. Doors open at 6:30. Music starts at 7:30. Ticket sales will benefit Marisa’s Mission, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to financially supporting patients and families in Massachusetts fighting cancer. Take part in Neponset Day!
Enjoy a day of fun in the sun at Neponset Day! Neponset Day is the Neponset River Watershed annual FREE, family-friendly, public celebration of the Neponset River, its parks, and wildlife, held along the River and the Greenway Trail in Dorchester. Take place on Saturday, August 3rd from 9am-1pm.
Activities include:
- free canoeing and kayaking
- a spray deck – bring a bathing suit & towels!
