Morrissey Blvd. Lane Closure Alert
Beginning on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and continuing through Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will implement a lane closure on Morrissey Boulevard at the intersection of Norwood Street in the City of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to accommodate utility work. Traffic patterns will be clearly marked, and a police detail will be on site. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 – Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Volunteer Tree Care Event
This earth friendly event will take place on Saturday, April 20th from 10am-1pm at Harambee Park – 930 Blue Hill Ave. Tree care activities include: mulching, trash colletion, weeding, and checking tree stakes,. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
Ventura Softball Field at Lower Mills VFW Memorial Post Park will close for renovations.
Beginning on Monday, April 15, 2024, and continuing through Sunday, June 30, 2024, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will close Ventura Softball Field at Lower Mills VFW Memorial Post Park in Dorchester to accommodate $75,000 of work DCR is investing to improve the field’s outfield, infield, team dugouts, and spectator seating. The work will also increase universal access. Safety fencing will be erected around the work area. DCR has coordinated with permit holders to relocate their teams to nearby fields. Additionally, the playground at the park will be closed during working hours from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to ensure public safety, as this is the only available construction access point to the field. The public can use the nearby playground at Dorchester Park, 2216 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA as an alternative, for the duration of work. If no active construction is occurring on a given day, the playground will open for use. The half basketball court at Lower Mills VFW Memorial Post Park will remain open for use for the duration of work.
