BFD responded to a call at approximately 1:15pm on Monday at 59 Wales Street. Heavy fire on all three floors of a multi family building. The fire has extended to the adjacent building and a fourth alarm was ordered.
Eventually the fire was knocked down. 16 residents were displaced, two firefighters suffered minor injuries and a cat and bird were rescued.
Boston FIU is actively investigating the cause of the fire.
